Abstract: This book consists of two stories. The first, "Gertrude's Diary" is written in the first person from the viewpoint of Gertrude, and contains all the things that happen in her life, from the small details to the biggest news. "The Cube" is an unrelated story about a circle or "cube" formed by a group of children. This story is an account of its meetings and includes all the work that went into running a well regulated society.
